【Interviewer】
* What is the game-related business considered by Confidence Inc for Starcaster Games?
Adam;
Takeshita-san and I saw a flaw in our industries, We realize the talent of those around us in our industry, and often see time after time again, when companies switch to work for hire unable to reach their full potential due to funding limitations, or people centric issues. Creators want to create and are often limited by market or financial means.
Takeshita;
Our goal is to help connect markets in a more meaningful way, and build a collaborative community for creative excellence.
I will represent Starcaster in the Japanese market and be a strategic partner going forward.
【Interviewer】
* What is the global consortium initiative that Confidence aims for?
Takeshita;
Our goal for the future is to build a business that bolsters talent. Adam will work together with us and partners and support creative efforts. The community we hope to be a name of confidence as well as a safe place to be yourself without the usual formalities.
【Interviewer】
* Why did you choose Starcaster Games as your first project?
Takeshita;
We both being former creative leads and producer who also ended up running our own businesses over the years, just found a common ground for collaboration. This is the main reason to work together, so we are not chosen by either of us.
【Interviewer】
* How did Starcaster Games and Confidence Takeshita set up this project?
Adam:Pretty much by chance, we both mutually respect and trust each other over the years. We found a lot of common goals, as well. That’s it.
【Interviewer】
* Why did you choose Acquire's Gladiator?
Adam;
This project was initially by coincidence, maybe fate? When I founded Starcaster I had previously wanted to do a game similarly, and it just happened we reconnected with Acquire after almost 10 years.
I shared my personal love and respect for Goshow’s Gladiator series, and mentioned I always felt maybe the title didn’t have a full chance to get embraced by overseas markets due to platform of choice.
We thought it would be fun to update a project no one would expect, but in process found there was so much more we could do and decided to deliver a new experience in vein of the original Gladiator Begins, so “Gladiux” A tribute to the original title was born, but as a new game with a broader market vision.
【Interviewer】
* What is special about Gladiux, currently under development by Starcaster Games?
Adam;Gladiux always reminded me of Def Jam Fight for New York and the Wrestling games by Yukes. It had a feeling that it could be more if given a full western market focus. We took this to mind when developing the game, but also the market has changed dramatically over the past 10 years. So a lot of that goes into play. We can’t reveal too much yet, but we hope to make this an enjoyable experience by those who play, and those who enjoy live streams.
【Interviewer】
* Who do you want to get played Gladiux by in Japan, not to mention the United States?
Adam;
The game will appeal to those who like action games, and we are building an experience that can be enjoyed for a long time or in short snackable experiences.
【Interviewer】
* Is there any other project you are working on other than Gladiux with Confidence?
Adam;
Yes, Starcaster Games currently has several top secret original projects in development, we hope to show more soon.
【Interviewer】
* Any words for game fans in Japan?
Adam;
We would love to know who you are, feel free to email us your wish list and suggestions at fans@Gladiux.com
In closing, I am very happy to introduce Adam Starcaster from Starcaster Games here. Me and him have discussed over many ideas, seeds of project, talent, development and creativity over many years. We are like brother, sometime pissed off, sometime laugh and many times having fun since we have met. Acquire is one of my favorite developer, so I am honor to get involved in Gladiux project from an early stage. This project gets me excited a lot, not only I am involved, but also this takes me to a next level together with Adam.
